HISTORICAL USE OF SPIRITUAL PLANT BASED MEDICINE AND HUMANITY

Throughout mankind's time on Earth there has always been in every race the designated roles of tribal Shaman/Doctor. It is only until recent Western history that the doctor was removed from the role of caring for the spirit leaving the role of spiritual care to the priest. Many tribes from around the world still rely on the Medicine Man as their Spiritual Connection and daily priest helping to take care of their medical, spiritual and tribal welfare. It is the Medicine Person's understanding of the cultural cosmology of their worlds and the interactions between the spirit world and the daily world that is their basis. From there the Medicine Person has many abilities or connections at their disposal, one of the most powerful and often utilized is the plant world. Throughout time the Plant World has been one of Mankind's greatest ally's and it is until only recently that some of the most helpful and beneficial of those ally's were demonized, metaphorically imprisoned and publicly smeared as dangerous and inherently bad, which is exactly the opposite of the truth.

Today a better understanding of the Cosmology of the role of the plant world and the individual consumer of plant based sacrament needs to be better understood by all.

PLANT MEDICINE HISTORY

MOTHER EARTH

In the Native thought Mother Earth the celestial planet that we exist upon is a spiritual entity that has a natural yet unseen symbiotically connected spirit world. In most tribal cultures Mother Earth is a spiritual living deity that must be honored, cherished, protected and championed.

SPIRITUAL PLANTS ENTHEOGENS

In the Native thought everything has a spirit and the Plant World has many spirits. Some of those spiritual plants are more profound and heard than the rest of the plant world. These medicines are often referred to as entheogen’s that naturally and purposely bridge worlds in many ways.

THE MEDICINE MAN

In the Native thought the role of the Medicine Person is the realization that there exists a connected other world that has cause and effect upon this seen physical world. It is the Medicine Persons role to bridge these worlds in a positive way utilizing plants and other Earthly connections to bring a positive affect for their patients.

Understanding that all cultures are sacred all races are holy and all humans are divine by nature. All individuals leading their lives according to their cultural existence can be aided in positive ways when partaking of plant based sacrament. Realizing that spirituality is a reality and praying with “Intention” for good things in your body, life and spirit can have a real positive result in ones existence. In the Native thought Prayers of positivity in yourself and the world makes a world of real difference in this real world.
